Ken was born on May 27, 1937 to Irving and Irene Cohen in Far Rockaway, NY. After graduating from South Broward High School in Hollywood, FL in 1954, he went on to study Electrical Engineering at the University of Illinois. After graduation in 1959, Ken entered the Coast Guard and upon his service ending, he started his engineering career. Ken worked on the Minuteman Missile and for several advanced electronic companies such as Dian Controls and Analog Devices. Ken married his beloved wife Rhona on March 26, 1966 in Boston and they were married for 55 wonderful years. They had two beloved children together: Stacey and Jason.
Ken was warm, friendly, and always quick to start up conversations with strangers. Endlessly curious and always a seeker of knowledge, Ken was an early adopter of technology throughout his life. Ken stood up for what he thought was right and volunteered for the ACLU. Ken was a creative outside-the-box thinker who marched to his own drummer.
He is survived by his wife Rhona, his daughter Stacey Cohen and husband David Manferdini, and his son Jason Cohen and wife Yuka. His loving grandchildren are Nathaniel Manferdini and Sayaka Cohen.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, January 13th at 10 AM at Stanetsky Memorial Chapels, 475 Washington Street, Canton, MA, followed by burial at Sharon Memorial Park.
