Judith Epstein, 83, of New York, died on January 12, 2019. Devoted mother of Stacie Simon and her partner Hal Tepfer, and Adam Epstein and his wife Lauren and the late Melissa Lebow. Cherished grandmother of Riley Simon, Joelle Simon, Evan Simon, and Jonah Epstein. Loving sister of the late Billy Epstein.
Raised in Brookline, MA, Judy attended both Syracuse University and Boston University and went on to receive a Master’s degree from C.W Post. She had a long storied career as a special needs teacher on Long Island before retiring to New York City.
Judy loved to travel, having visited the Far East, Africa, and Europe, she had a particular fondness for both Paris and Italy. Judy developed strong relationships while at Syracuse University and continued to spend time with those friends throughout her life. She was a patron of the arts and was happy to live so close to Lincoln Center where she could attend opera, ballet and theater. Judy enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, who often came to visit her in New York. Judy was an avid bridge player and would rarely miss an afternoon with the girls.
A graveside service for Judy will be held on Wednesday, January 16th at 11:15am at Sharon Memorial Park, 40 Dedham Street, Sharon, MA.
