Daughter of the late Sarah (Schwartzberg) and Rubin Bendersky. Loving wife of the late Nathan Pransky and late Jackson Saltz. Loving companion of the late Burton Rudnick. Beloved mother of Gary Pransky and his wife Audrey of Swampscott; Alan Pransky and his wife Sheila of Canton; and the late Joanne Pransky and her husband Rob Schwartz of California. She is survived by five grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
Freda was born in Rovno, Poland on August 26, 1922 and came to this country in 1925. She was the oldest of three children and as the only English-speaking member of the family, she took on multiple responsibilities at a young age. Unusual for a women from an immigrant family at the time, she graduated college and taught at a Jewish day school for several years. An accomplished pianist, she also performed in various piano recitals in Boston.
Later in life, Freda became an expert bridge player, playing in tournaments as well as socially with friends. She took great pride in being a Life Master in bridge and –even at 101 – lamented that her poor eyesight prevented her from gaining the last few points needed to reach the highest ranking in amateur bridge.
