Cheryl Fay Shapiro, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, passed away peacefully, with her family by her side, on August 19, 2024, at the age of 75, joining her dear husband, David Shapiro, in eternal rest.
Born on April 21, 1949 to Elsie and Joseph Schwartz. Cheryl was a beacon of love, kindness, and warmth, whose gentle spirit brightened the lives of all who knew her. She was the devoted mother of two daughters, Jayna Medeiros of Stoughton and Erica Cuddy of Foxboro, and a cherished mother-in-law to Matt Cuddy of Foxboro. Cheryl’s family was her greatest pride and joy, and she loved nothing more than spending time with her three grandchildren, Kiely Medeiros, Daphne Cuddy and DJ Cuddy who were her heart and soul. Their laughter brought her endless happiness, and she treasured every moment they shared.
Cheryl was a loving sister to Bobbie Holtzman of Stoughton, and her late husband Steven Holtzman, whom she shared a deep and lifelong bond with. She was preceded in death by her brother, Jerry Schwartz, sisters-in-laws, Joan Schwartz and Barbara Schwartz, and brothers-in-laws Harvey Shapiro and Donald Shapiro. She is survived by many loving nieces, nephews and cousins.
Cheryl’s kindness, unwavering support, and the way she made everyone feel welcome will be fondly remembered by all who knew her. She will be deeply missed, but the love and memories she created will live on in the hearts of her loved ones.
Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, August 22, 2024 at 2:00 PM at Stanetsky Memorial Chapel, 475 Washington Street, Canton. Interment will immediately follow at Sharon Memorial Park. Shiva will follow the burial on Thursday at the home of Erica and Matt Cuddy and continue on Friday from 2:00 PM until sundown.
