She was born Anita Schnider, January 5th 1921 in Boston, Massachusetts, a daughter of late Frank Schnider and Bessie Schnider(Yoffe). Anita was preceded in her death by her husband of 42 years Lawrence (Larry) Croan and two brothers Herbert Schnider and Fred Schnider.
Before retirement, Anita was a credit manager at Karas & Karas Glass for 30 years. She worked hard alongside her husband to provide a comfortable life for her family. Anita was a caring and devoted mother to her only child Jeffrey Croan. She was a loving grandmother and great-grandmother as well.
In 1966, Anita and Larry bought their first home in Sharon, Massachusetts where she lived, after the passing of her husband in 1994, for 45 years. After the sale of her home she moved in with her son and his family until 2021. By then she needed more full-time care, her final residence being in Dracut, MA at the Giving Tree.
She loved to travel. Anita and Larry were in Aruba several times a year and were always ready to go back. In her later years she took cruises, went to Las Vegas and even had a final trip to Aruba at 100 years old with her son and daughter-in-law.
Her hobbies included reading, playing mahjong with friends and going to bingo with her granddaughter and daughter-in-law. She also loved to watch her great-grandson Dylan run and play.
Anita is survived by her loving son Jeffrey Croan; daughter-in-law Wendy Croan; two grandchildren Ashley Croan and Matthew Croan; one great-grandchild Dylan Gil; and best friend Harriet Garner. She also leaves many other family members and friends who will sadly miss her.
