Lila, I am so sorry to hear this. I enjoyed visiting with you and Roy when you would come to Soddy Daisy. You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers!!

Dear Roy, I don't know if there is anything better that you can say about someone than, I smile everytime I think of you, but smile I do when I think of you. I have so many wonderful memories of you, whether it's the countless games of cribbage you played with me, or the road trips we all took together, with you leading the way, but what stands out the most, is all the love and laughter you shared with us, and also the sound of your magical musical pocket.....You are thought of often, and I'm sending love with you, and to all of the family.....Love Tina

The last time I saw you was Thanksgiving of 2010. You looked so happy then, and the picture of health.   I only wish I took pictures on that occasion, however the happy face will be embedded in my mind forever.  

You also took  Lila and me up north to antique city in the biggest vehicle I've ever rode in. I enjoyed that ride so much, and I never told you that I enjoyed it.  I do hope you know I've appreciated everything.

You have given your children many a good advice through the years and they appreciate you and are proud to have you as their father.

We will all miss you.

Dear Papa...I will miss seeing you in front of your computer playing poker. I'm sure you are having a ball now hustling cards in that Big Casino in the Sky. :-) Though I did not get to see you as often as I would have liked growing up, I cherish every moment and memory I have. You lived a good life. 87 years. 3 kids. 4 grandkids. 1 great-grand kid. Married to Grammi for 60 years. Soldier. Husband. Father. Grandfather. I can only hope I live as long and fulfilling a life as you did. Love Amber.

 Were you ever fortunate enough to have the pleasure of my Dad tell you an amusing story? Maybe something he saw in a movie, or something he read. OMG! If laughter is contagious, he was the contagion. Tears streaming down his face, he's laughing so hard while telling you, he can barely eek out the words. You can't really understand what he is saying, but God is it funny. Pretty soon you are both laughing hysterically, and it doesnt matter that you dont understand what the story is about, that he just tried to relate to you; because- ITS JUST SO DAMN FUNNY!  That was my Dad.

Dear uncle Roy I know you will see my message, as i choose to light a candle for you so the flame will burn forever in my heart   I know we did not get to see you very often, but when we did  the memory's last a long time I loved spending time with you and Aunt Lila  when you would come to Soddy, so i look forward to spending more time with you when I get to heaven with you and mama.  your niece Alice Faye

In My Pocket

I have memories in my pocket.
They rattle among the change.
