Marjorie and Jeffrey Potash are deeply saddened to share the passing of their son Robert. He left our world much too soon on July 8, 2023. He was a beloved son, grandson, partner, brother, nephew, friend, and dog dad. Born and raised on Long Island, he moved out to sunny Los Angeles in 2016 in search of barreling waves and serenity.
Rob belonged to the ocean, a place where he felt most at peace, most at home. He was always “living the dream.”
He was a genuine thrill-seeker: surfer, snowboarder, fisherman, grill master, boater, and skater. He was the eternal optimist, bursting with a zest for life. Rob truly lived life in technicolor and his light was contagious.
Friends knew him as Robbie P, Bobby Basil, Numero Yuno, White Rob, and Nacho. Beyond the many nicknames, his soul was singular. He was a selfless, kind person who prioritized others over himself. Despite his own battles, he personified the expression, “when someone helps you and they are struggling too, that’s not help, that’s love.”
He is survived by his parents, girlfriend Nikki, brother Jesse, grandma Joan, nanny Gladys, aunt Barbara and aunt Chris, uncle Phil and uncle Bruce, and his beloved Frenchies, Rascal and Marley.
He will be truly missed by those whose lives he touched and he will be forever in our hearts!
