Rizalyn Viray Basobas, known to everyone as Sally, was called home by the Lord on April 11, 2024 surrounded by her family.
Born Rizalyn Viray in the Philippines on June 19, 1972, Sally emigrated to the United States in 1977. She grew up in the San Fernando Valley area, easily fitting in as a “gnarly Valley Girl, fer sure!” In the pursuit of a better future for her children, Sally completed her certificate as a Licensed Vocational Nurse.
Sally spent her entire journey on earth in selfless sacrifice for others. Sally’s faith in God and the loving support of her family provided her the strength to fight her cancer battle with grace and dignity.
Sally was preceded in death by grandfather, Narciso Viray. She is survived by her grandmother, Teodora Viray, parents Will and Yolly, brothers Andy and Chris, sister-in-law Winnie, husband Mark, her sons Ian and Joseph, granddaughter Liana, and innumerable friends who have become family along the way. Sally leaves behind a memorable mark on the hearts of the many lives she has touched during her brief time with us.
“There are some who bring a light so great to the world that even after they have gone the light remains”
