James Alan Harper

Allen graduated from Argo Community High School in 1965 and began his service to the United States Marine Corps on August 01, 1965, where he earned a purple heart. After four years of service, he attended the University of California, Berkeley from 1969-1985 and later earned his teaching credentials at California State, San Bernardino. Subsequently, he became a respected English teacher at Frisbee Middle School where he taught English for 25 years.

Allen was previously married to Darlene Rollins. Their union was blessed with two children, Evelyn and Allen Jr., for whom he held unconditional love. He was later reunited in holy matrimony to Jan Robertson.

Allen passed away on January 01, 2014 and is survived by his wife Jan Robertson, his three children, Evelyn, Allen Jr., and Shanta Harper, his siblings, Eric (Barbara)Harper of Winnetka, California; Pamela (Richard) Hall of Kenosha, Wisconsin; Spencer Harper of Chicago, Illinois and Esther Harper of Argo, Illinois, two grandchildren Nalik Davis and Jada Henley and host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends
