James Joseph Desmarais 1/8/1951 - 11/14/2022. Jim passed away suddenly and unexpectedly on Monday, November 14, of acute congestive heart failure. Born in Rhode Island, his family moved to Garden Grove, California when he was very young. Educated at Servite High School and Cal State Fullerton. He did his Masters Thesis on Vampires in Film - many years before the vampire trend. He was a writer, producer, director, film historian and film professor. He was smart, funny and compassionate. He hated bullies and loved animals. Married to Alison Rosenfeld Desmarais for 32 years, she survives him. Also survived by his sister, Patty Desmarais of Glendale, CA, along with cousins and in-laws who will miss him greatly.
