Annie Mae Jack

She departed this life peacefully at home in Canoga Park, Ca. to be with our Lord on April 23, 2010 at the age of 78. Annie had a loving spirit with a smile that just drew you to her.

In her earlier years Annie Mae was free spirited and loved to just go. She loved playing card and domino's, traveling and spending time with her family and friends. She worked as a nurse for many years in the Los Angeles area and retired to move back to her home town Louisiana to be with her husband Houston Jack, Jr. who predeceased her in death. In her later years of life she was devoted to the Lord and looked forward to church and fellowshipping every week. She loved her gospel music and enjoyed handing out the mints at church. Annie Mae moved back to the Los Angeles area to live and be cared for by her loving daughter Emily Jester and husband Dana Johnson in Canoga Park where she lived out the remaining of her life.

Annie was a beloved sister, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother , aunt and friend. Annie was the youngest of 13 and is survived by her 3 brothers; Brady Matthew of Galveston, TX; Leroy Matthews of Beaumont, TX; and Ira Matthews of Galveston, TX. She was a mother of 5 with one preceding her in death in 1969, Carolyn Brooks, who was survived by husband Jetty Brooks. Survived by; Shirley Anne May and her husband Robert May; Orvel Jack and his wife Debra Jack; Emily Jester and her husband Dana Johnson; and James Jester, 10 grandchildren; Takoa Woodard, Devon Jester, Krishaun Jester, Rayshaun Jester, Cecil Brown, Tasia Brown, Javon Jack, Caron Jack, Alexis J'Shaun Jester and Alexis Jester. 10 Great-Grandchildren and 1 Great-Great- Grandchildren with one more on the way.

Almost everyone who met her called her Mama or Madea. How we wish you were still here but by the grace of God you are there. But we still hold you near and dear in our hearts while we are here. Madea We Love You and we'll see you later.
