Anita Nano B. Benavides Davis

Anita B. Davis peacefully went home to be with the Lord on Monday, June 20, 2011 while surrounded by beloved family members. She was born to Juan and Rosa Benavides on May 5, 1927. She was blessed to fall in love at an early age and marry her lifetime sweetheart, “Chico” Frank Davis on December 14, 1941. Together they created a very warm and inviting home where they raised their kids- Bill, Mira, Barbara, Lori, Frankie, and Robert and throughout their life they acquired more than a few “honorary children” along the way- Mike, Trish, Rob, Oscar, Diane, and Tom to name a few. She spent her last eight years living in Winnetka, CA spending quality time laughing and playing with her great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband “Chico”; her siblings; her sons Bill and Frankie; her nephews Johnny, Adan, Ralph, Tony, Richard, and Manny; her nieces Rosela and Gracie. She is survived by her daughters Mira, Barbara, Lori, and Kathy; her son, Robert; her son-in-law Mike; her sister-in-law Gladys; her brother-in-law Herbert; several nieces and nephews including Ruben, Rosie, Yolanda, Gloria, Loretta, Raquel, Cynthia, Dolores, Andrea, Aura, Sylvia, Marie, and Bobbie ; her grandchildren Johnny, Cassandra, Mikey, Miranda, Morgan, Kaila, Alyssa, Nicole, and Billy; her great-grandchildren Theo, Taylor, Thomas, Leia, Amya, Brandon, and Trevon. She always considered it a blessing to be a part of such a big and strong family unit.

Anita will always be in our hearts and remembered fondly as “Mom”, “Tia”, “Nano”, “Grandma”, and “Nana”. She taught us all love, forgiveness, courage, independence, and perseverance through her faith, guidance, love, and grace and we will celebrate her spirit always.
