Born on May 6, 1954, he was the son of Marcus and Shirley Dickson.
A life-long resident of Tide Head, Robin enjoyed a 47 year career as a millwright at the Atholville mill, until his retirement. It was there that he earned the respect and friendship of his many co-workers through the years.
A millwright was his profession, but farming was his passion. From the time he was a young boy, he loved helping at the family homestead in Napan, NB, eventually taking over the farm.He loved the animals and the passing seasons of a farmer's life. That community would become a second home to Robin. From Napan to Nackawic, Mariner's Point Park became one of his favourite places where he spent many sunny days floating on the head pond on his prized pontoon boat. He especially enjoyed listening to country music and was fond of his cat Jacob and his Canadian horses Nellie and Shadow.
His first love was family. Robin and Cathy were high school sweethearts who went on to share 49 loving years together. He instilled in his two sons, Harley and Carey, his gentle nature, his great sense of humour, and his kind way of always helping others. Of course, they are also following in their father's footsteps, continuing the farming life.
Robin will be deeply missed by his many friends and family, including his wife Cathy (Charlong), sons Harley, Carey (Alex), brothers Reggie (Pam) and Terry, and many nieces and nephews.
A special thanks go to the nursing staff at the ICU unit of the Saint John Hospital.
A graveside funeral service will be held on Thursday, May 20, 2021 at 2:00 pm at Flatlands Cemetery.
