Passed away peacefully and suddenly at the Campbellton Regional Hospital on Sunday May 28, 2023 at the age of 94, Rena (Bujold) Parker, wife of the late Eldon “Dick” Parker and only daughter of Allan Bujold and Laurette Arsenault of Maria, QC.
Rena was a graduate of Hotel Dieu School of Nursing Class of 1949, where she worked many years as a Nurse and an instructor. Before her retirement Rena worked as a School Nurse in Matapedia and Escuminac.
She attended St. Thomas Aquinas Church and was an active member of the CWL. Rena enjoyed gardening, needlework, knitting and entertaining. Many wonderful meals were prepared by Rena for family and friends. She gave many hours of her time to the hospital boutique and the Annual Fall Fair.
She and Dick spent many happy summers at their cottage in Pointe à la Garde and later Oak Bay. Florida was a yearly destination for decades.
Rena is survived by her two children, Carmelynn (Charles Greene) of New Richmond, QC and Allan (Lucille Lirette) of Dieppe, NB, grandchildren Sean and Ryan Greene and Lisa and Jamie Parker. Her seven great-grandchildren Connor, Evan, Liam, Elliot, Sofia, Jordan and Makayla were her pride and joy.
A Funeral Service for Rena will be held at Maher’s funeral Chapel, 64 Lansdowne St., Campbellton, NB on Friday June 2, 2023 at 3:00 pm.
The family will welcome family and friends at the Chapel from 2:00 pm until time of service.
We would like to thank the staff at Bursey Towers for their kindness and compassion towards Rena during her 13 years as a resident.
Special thanks to the staff of Transition Ward at Campbellton Regional Hospital for their professionalism towards Rena during her short stay.
Donation in Rena’s memory may be made to the Campbellton Nursing Home or Charity of donor’s choice.
Funeral arrangements were entrusted in the care of Maher’s funeral Home, Campbellton.
