Margaret "Snook" E. Elder Anslow

She is survived by her children; Ruth Lavoie of Ile Perrot, QC, Ian Anslow of Fredericton, NB and John Anslow of Campbellton, NB; her grandchildren Randy (Roz), Rob (Mary Jane), Karen, Keith (Eleanor), Margo Hughes (Glen), Heather, Stacy Pierce (Joel), Rob (Carrie). Also surviving are 19 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Alexander C. Anslow, her sister, Ruth Henderson and her parents John Elder and Margaret Henderson.

In her younger days, she was an active curler, golfer and a proud supporter of Campbellton hockey. Her favorite season was summer where she could not wait to sit on her veranda and watch the people and the traffic go by, as well as have people drop in and visit. She looked forward to spending a few weeks every summer basking in the sun, at the Loch Lomond Fishing Club in St. Arthur. However, her greatest love was her grandchildren and great grandchildren whose visits she looked forward to, whose photos she cherished and whose letters she read over and over.

Funeral services were held at the First United Church, Campbellton, on June 4 with Rev. Kent Gibbons officiating. Interment was in the Campbellton Rural Cemetery. Active pallbearers were Larry McKinnon, Benji Pitre, Mike Belliveau, grandsons; Keith Lavoie and Randy Lavoie and great grandson; Mike Lavoie. Honorary pallbearers were Linda Currie, Helen Busteed, Ann Firlotte, Carmen Boucher, Joanne Legacy, Arlene Nicol, Sadie Theriault and Anne Saunders.

The funeral service will be held at the First United Church, Campbellton on June 4 at 2:00 pm.

Visitation at Maher’s Funeral Home, 33 Lansdowne St. Campbellton, on Friday June 3 from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm and 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm and on Saturday at the church from 1pm until time of funeral.

Donations to the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
