

Friday, November 26th, 2021, at his residence, at the age of 73, passed away Mr. Joseph Alcide Gionet of Tide Head, husband of Mrs. Ghislaine (born Boutot) Gionet. He was the son of the late Mary Catherine (born Marchand) and the late Joseph Alcide Gionet.
Besides his wife Ghislaine, he will be sadly missed by his children: Vincent Gionet (Kim) of Tide Head, Deanna Parsons (Wayne) of Mount Uniacke and Christine Gionet (Sanad) of Mississauga; his grandchildren: Megan, Zachary, Brooke and Brett; his great grandson Nolan; his brothers; Bobby (Susan) of Halifax, Garry (Sylvia) of Louisdale, Ronnie (Josephine) of Calgary and Steven (Kathy) of Halifax also by many members of the Boutot family, nieces, nephews and friends.
As the founder and owner of J.G. Optical, Joe was a prominent member of the community. He previously volunteered his time with the Cancer Society and as Chief of the Tide Head Fire Department. Joe was creative and loved to paint and doodle on the newspaper. With a competitive spirit, he always enjoyed a good game of cards. He always had a love of the outdoors, fishing, hunting, and boating. Joe had unconditional love for his family and his dog, Pearl. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the New Brunswick Lung Association.
Funeral mass will be held in the St. Thomas Aquinas Church, Campbellton, on Tuesday, November 30th at 2:00 pm. Mr. Joseph Alcide Gionet will rest at Savoie Funeral Home, situated at 47 Alexander St., Campbellton, on Monday evening from 7:00 till 9:00 pm, also on Tuesday from 12:00 (noon) till time of funeral. Due to current Covid regulations anyone attending the visitations at the funeral home or to the funeral service must show proof of Double Vaccination.
