Ida was born on April 14, 1936 in Moores Settlement, QC to the late George Chisholm and the late Blanche Fitzgerald.
Ida (Nanny) was a unique and extraordinary individual who left an unquestionable mark on our lives. Her devotion to her family was unparalleled. She held a special place in her heart for each and every one of her family members and was always ready with a listening ear, comforting words, and unwavering support. No matter the distance or the circumstances, she made sure her love reached us all. Aside from being dedicated to her family, Ida had a great love for animals and the outdoors! From exhilarating ski-doo rides, 4-wheeling, lazy river days, picking fiddle heads, fishing, and so much more, in her younger years she was always up for an exciting adventure. Her green thumb and love for baking will always be remembered.
Nanny's family was her pride and joy, and she treasured every moment spent together. From heartwarming family gatherings and celebrations, she valued the bonds that held us all together. Her love created a sense of connection and strength that will continue to resonate within us, even in her absence. Her unwavering presence provided comfort and reassurance in times of need to so many. She was more than a mother and grandmother; she was a friend and source of unconditional love and support, and her legacy will forever live on in our hearts.
As a woman of faith she is now dancing on the streets of gold in Heaven with her Lord, free from the burdens of pain, sickness, and sorrow and reunited with her beloved husband, and together they are at peace.
She leaves in deep sorrow her children; Alsa (the late Wayne) Irving, Mary Lou (the late Donald) Irving, Nedra (Jeffrey) Branch, Shelly (John) Witzke, and Doug (Marie Eve) Craswell. She is also survived by her grandchildren; Andrea (Jason), Krista (Nick), Saffire (Brett), Hilary (Colin), Ashley (Tyler), Jason, Titan, Audrey (Matt), Phenix, Yanni, Zack, Brent (Angela) Irving, Wendy Irving, Rachael (Steve), and Julie (Nick), as well as her great grandchildren; Alexander, Memphis, Charley, Lydia, Jackson, Ellie Foxx, Brody, Amanda, Liam, Cullen, and Caden.
