Ronald “Ron” Edmund Pickering was a caring father, grandfather, and friend. He passed away at age 71 after a courageous battle with cancer on December 30, 2022, surrounded by his family.
Ron was born to Benjamin and Della Pickering on April 7, 1951 in Drumheller, Alberta. He later moved to Red Deer, Alberta where he started his family. He relocated to Campbell River, British Columbia in 1994 and remained there until his passing.
Ron’s first love was working in his woodshop building furniture for himself and others. If he wasn’t in the woodshop, he was in the kitchen baking or cooking large meals for the people he loved. He was well respected within his community as a mentor and friend.
Ron is survived by his three children Danielle, Sean, and Matt, his brother Ben, his sister Pam, and his seven grandchildren.
