Florence Beryl Brown (known as Beryl)(nee Moseley-Austin) was born in Birmingham, U.K., on March 21, 1929, and passed away at Campbell River Hospital on September 26, 2021 at the age of 92. Beryl Brown moved to Canada when she was 21. Beryl worked at the St. Michael’s Hospital as a night nurse, and the Municipal Hospital in Lethbridge, Alberta, where Beryl worked as a nurse on the floors, in the central supply room, and was affectionately known as B.B. by the staff in the operating room where she worked for 10 years as an operating room nurse. Beryl leaves behind her husband of 71 years, Roy Ernest, her daughter Frances Ann (Stuart), and her son David Ernest. Her daughter, Margaret Grace Haustein ( Harold, Roger, Zak ) died 3 years ago suddenly of a stroke when only 58. Beryl had 3 grandchildren, Sabrina Rose Ann Leslie (an Associate Professor of Biophysics at U.B.C.), Alexandra Lara Winifred Leslie(a writer, having published four books, and a social worker), and Simone Frances Florence Leslie(a musician playing the piano and the trombone).
