Born June 16, 1953, in Mechanicsburg, Bob was a man of faith. He loved to combine his deep desire for knowledge and strong mechanical inclination to learn, build, maintain and repair many things throughout his personal and professional life. He fittingly found satisfaction in being “the guy with a flashlight, pocketknife and multitool at all times.” Bob too carried a multitool within his heart which included honor, empathy, protector, planner and craftsman in all his thoughts and actions. He thrived when around his family, especially his granddaughter. In his last months, Bob was given great joy by his daughter-in-law’s creation of life-sized cardboard cutouts of his smiling granddaughter, which accompanied him both at the hospitals and at home. So much so that he and his son developed a plan to spread the joy of similar cutouts to other hospital patients in need of a familiar smile.
Bob is preceded in death by his parents, Robert, Sr. and Irene Kalbach; nephew, Daniel, and great-niece, Ava Grace.
Bob is survived by his wife of 45 years, Chiara; son, Robert, III and his wife Giselle, their daughter, Sarah Maria; brother, Richard (Denise), nieces and nephews.
Our family is grateful for Bob’s presence in our lives. He is deeply loved and will be deeply missed.
Funeral services will be private at Good Shepherd Catholic Church.
