In his own way and for his own purpose, our heavenly Father reached down into our garden to pluck one of our fairest flowers.  On Friday, October 14, 2016 he called the spirit of Mrs. Nancy W. Emerick home to be with him throughout eternity.  Her soul winged its flight from the world of sin, sorrow and pain to a place of eternal rest.

How sweet it is at evening, after a long and well spent day to close the eyes in slumber, and rest from the toil of the day.

It is doubly sweet at the close of a well spent life to turn ones face toward the sunset and quietly sink into the rest that knows no waking except in the presence of God.
                                                                                                
Such was the passing of our beloved Mrs. Emerick.   We will forever cherish the memory of her beautiful character, which in daily living radiated that fruit of the spirit, love, joy, peace, long-suffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, meekness and self-control.

You must find comfort and consolation in the words of Jesus, who said, cast your burdens on him, for earth hath no sorrows that heaven cannot heal.

As a tribute of our love and esteem, we the Harrisburg High Class of 1976 would like to express these words to our classmate Caroline E. Mael and the entire family who grieves today, those we love don't go away, they walk beside us every day, unseen, unheard, but always near, still loved, still missed and very dear.

Dear Donna, Bob and Caroline, I was saddened to read of your mother's passing. So many of my childhood memories include her laughter,  her easy conversation, and her unending patience  at my constant presence in your home. I think I must have thought that if I stayed long enough, eventually your parents would just assume I lived there. I share the sadness of her death, but I feel lucky to have known such a good woman.

Donna, Bob, and the remaining family and friends...please accept my deepest condolences on the loss of your family Matriarch.

It is normal to mourn her passing, but it is also important to remember the happier moments each of you shared with her during her long life.

May you rest in eternal peace "Nancy W. Emerick"!!

Caroline--You and your family are in my prayers. Even though I was many times a "tag-a-long" with you and my sister Angie, I remember your mother as always willing to make sure we had a great time and drive us everywhere we wanted to go. Mrs. Emerick will always have a special place in my memories. She left her mark and legacy.
