He was born May 21, 1991, in Harrisburg, the son of Douglas and Deborah Barry.
A graduate of Cedar Cliff High School, he was continuing his studies at Temple University and Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia.
Michael lived fast and furiously, appreciating all of life’s offerings to the fullest extent. He loved all animals, but shared an especially unique relationship with his rescue pit bull, Beretta. He could be counted on for his expertise on anything related to automobiles, the Philadelphia dining scene, power tools and home improvement projects, and maintaining the ultimate fish tanks.
Never one to be outdone, Michael would seek out the region’s largest pumpkin every Halloween and throw together the most impressive fireworks displays on the 4th of July.
He had many hobbies, including skiing throughout Utah, eating his way through places like Italy and Panama, sharing his love for music, four-wheeling on his grandmother’s farm, and seeking out the perfect addition to his ever-growing footwear collection.
Michael made friends everywhere he went, and he will be dearly missed and remembered by so many for his ability to light up a room, his keen fashion sense, smile, and wonderful sense of humor.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Michael and Mary Gullage, and his paternal grandfather Burrell H. Barry.
In addition to his parents, he leaves behind by his grandmother, Ruth Barry, paternal aunts and uncles, Diane Barry, Susan Barry, and Bruce Barry, maternal aunt, Michelle Gullage, his loving girlfriend, Nicolette Hitzel, and countless friends.
A celebration of life will be held at 8pm, Wednesday, October 18, 2017 at the Neill Funeral Home, 3401 Market St., Camp Hill, with visitation from 6-8pm.
In lieu of flowers, his family requests for those who would like to donate to make checks payable to Humane Society of Harrisburg Area, with the note, “In Memory of Michael Barry”. The mailing address is 7790 Grayson Road, Harrisburg, PA 17111.
