She was born in Madera, PA on October 19, 1935, to the late Martha (Lee) and Calvin J Pusey.
Laura graduated from Moshannon Joint High School and Philipsburg State General Hospital School of Nursing, and worked as a registered nurse. While raising her children she devoted her life to her family and volunteered countless hours with her church, school PTAs, and scouting events. At Camp Hill Presbyterian Church, she served as an elder, director of the youth group CiS, and the moderator of Presbyterian Women. After her children were older she jumped back in as a private duty nurse, and she helped to start a local chapter of Blue Star Mothers. She enjoyed tailgating and was an avid fan of Penn State Football for many years, but the thing that brought her the most joy was doting on her nine grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her loving husband John Zazworsky, Sr. and her brothers Richard and Bobby Pusey.
Surviving Laura are her two sons, Col. (retired) John, Jr. and his wife, Monica; David and his wife, Michelle; one daughter, Nancy Frist; nine grandchildren, Daniel (Morgan) and Jennifer Zazworsky, David (Mandy), Cara (Kyle) Seanard, and Mia (Jacob Greer) Zazworsky, and Leanne, Ryan, Sean, and Aaron Frist; four great-grandchildren, Flynn, Morgan, Kian, and Maren; and her sister Loma Jane “Pat” Ranish.
