 Carole:  We met John at the West Shore Health Club.  We talked to him and really enjoyed being around such a wonderful man the was so full of life. We are sorry that we never met you, but we kept him on our Christmas list when we moved for Pennsylvania to Arizona.  We truly appreciate your note and letting us know that he passed away.  Our thoughts and prayers are with you.  We truly was blessed to have met John and spent the time at the Health Club with him.  We will keep you in our prayers to go you strength. My heart felt much sorrow when I heard of Johns passing. As children, John and I were inseparable.
The times we shared as friends are still fresh in my memories, And a large part of my childhood was formed with the Bower family. But things and times change, and after John was discharged from the Navy, I was in the Marine Corps and our roads took different directions and to My deepest regret, we lost that childhood bond. The world was a much better place with you in it John. Farewell old friend, I hope we meet again in a distant time and place.

It was a pleasure knowing you John if even only for a short time.  Your personality was very warming and you always a welcoming smile.  Karen Nunes

Uncle John was an amazing man a great husband,father, grandfather, brother, and uncle!!!  Out of all my uncles I was closest to him, he has always been apart of my life growing up and has always been there with plenty of hugs and always the sweetest things said, I am going to miss him so much I will never forget him and all he has done and said to me..I loved him so very much!!! My thoughts and prayers are with Aunt Carole,Yvonne,Michele, Johnny, Amy and the grandchildren in this great time of sorrow and loss.

To a kind and gentle man i met when my daughter took riding lessons from Carole.He was always helpful in many ways.My thoughts and prayers go out to Carole and family.

Please accept our sincere sympathy at this sad time. It was always nice seeing John and I will never forget those "hugs" he gave me whenever we would see each other. We will always remember the memories of all the fun and good times we had years ago at get togethers. We remember one time John, Carole, Glenn and I were going out to eat and we were in John's green Merecedes and it broken down because the springs were bad and we had too much weight in the car. We are here for you if you need anything, we are just a phone call away. John was a good man and no doubt his passing will be a great loss to all who knew him and will be missed by many for years to come. Great man taught me a lot about the railroad. My thoughts and prayers go out to the Family and friends!!!

I worked with John only a few times on the railroad but I always enjoyed his positive energy.  He seemed like a great person to be around.  I hope that his family finds comfort in the good times they've had with him over  the years. My condolences for your loss.

I will always remember John as a kind and wonderful man who I met while being a member of the "Class Of '57 " West Shore High School.  May God be with his family at this time.  My thoughts and prayers go out to them.
