I am going to be 87 in July of 2024. Janet and I have 5 great grand children now. I live at Luther Crest nursing home in Allentown .
I miss Janet every day. We had a lot of fun raising five children.
We also had ten grandchildren .  My oldest son is now 62 and getting ready to retire. What a wonderful life I have had. I hope I will be with Janet again.

I was one of Janet's patients.  I am sorry to hear of her passing.  She was a wonderful nurse.  I will miss her sorely.

Except for our brother, John, I (Cynthia) her youngest sister knew Janet longer than anyone. She was my idol growning up, when I was asked, I would always say I wanted to be just like her. She knew she wanted to be an RN when she was 12, or younger, there was never a doubt. After working in her chosen profession for years she went on the achieve a degree in nursing and a Masters in Nurse Management. All of this while raising and educating five children with the constant support of her loving husband Tom. And with all this she wanted more, she continued on to become a Nurse Practioner. In another world at another time she most likely would have gone right to Med school but in 1958 few women did that. But if she did that she may not have met Tom, the love of her live. We use to joke that she was a professional student, but she was also working all this time. Janet was tough and stright forward she never pulled any punches and when she discovered she had a problem she addressed it the same way. With convition and courage. My hero, my sister and one of my best friends. The other being, Marge, the sister we lost 5 1/2 years ago. Don't get me wrong I love my brother with all my heart but he never when shopping for shoes with us or had a manicure....The thought of losing Janet was beyond reality. She was a force and power to be deal with. In reading all these wonderful comments I wanted you all to know how hard she worked to be where she was. The hours she put in, way beyond those spend the the office to make certain that all your charts were up to date and accuract. There is no way I or the entire family, especially, Tom, could convay to all of you what your toughts and memories mean to her us. All the work, education and sacerfice paid off. She was a wonderful person, very stright foward never afraid to voice her opinion.  My Hero always my Hero.

Janet Kelly was such a blessing.  She had a wonderful bedside manner and naturally put her patients at ease.  She also had a great deal of knowledge. Each time I met with her, I was comforted by her words and confident in the directions she shared. She will be dearly missed!

As a new patient and a new resident to PA, Janet made my first visit to the Mechanicsburg office easy.  She was really interested in my health and well being.  We covered all my concerns and she took time to listen and answer all my questions. Her special ways and generous heart made a beautiful difference in my life.

Tom, THANK YOU, for sharing Janets words with us all. She truely was an amazing woman. So very glad she got to spend time at the beloved cabin. And YES, she sure did make a difference and so many lives. I miss her and always will. She was my care giver for many years. She understood her patients and had kind words to help ease us in our time of need. She always had a hug for me and I will remember that the  most. Her loving embrace was always reassuring. Yes, she was BLESSED and so were we. Thank you once again for sharing.

I only knew her as my Nurse Practitioner, but I wanted to pass on my condolences.  I almost liked getting sick just so I could see her!  What a great spirit.  What a great sense of humor.  What a great woman. I was so sad to hear of her passing.

It was truly a blessing to have Janet for my "doc." Like you're mom, but with tons of medical knowledge.  A life well-lived.

I was extremely sadden to hear about the loss of the most wonderful person one could ever have as a doctor.  Mrs. Janet was my doctor for 14 yrs & she took very good care of me & my family.  We will miss her so much because she made us feel like we mattered........she was a jewel & no one else will ever be able to replace her.  Mrs Janet always went above & beyond the call of duty......again she will certainly be missed.

Such a wonderful, caring woman to be taken too soon.  She always took care of me as her patient and I shall truly miss her gentle humor, sharing of stories, talk about our children and travels.  You are missed, Janet, now rest in lovely peace.

I met Janet kelly years ago, she was tough but in a loving gentle way as my care provider. She would always tell me to do what was best for me even when others would not agree. I admired her so much and I will forever miss her  hands grabing my face as she asked "whats the matter sweetie" she has earned her place in heaven and in our hearts forever. Janet was one of the finest health care partners I ever had. She always had a smile, even when she was telling me what I should be doing, and what I souldn't. I was saddened to hear that she had stopped practicising at Family Health, and deeply feel her loss now at her passing. Janet was a remarkable woman, and a caring soul. I'll miss Janet. She was my "doctor" at Mechanicsburg Family Practice for many years. We had a lot in common, namely our Catholic faith, our age, (I also was born in November 1940), and our enjoyment of pro football. As a Patriots fan I enjoyed needling her about them beating the Eagles in the Super Bowl. She was proud of her large portrait of an Eagles player on the ceiling of her office. It might have been Donovan McNabb. My favorite memory of her was when she advised me to consider a knee replacement, saying it was no big deal. Then she hiked up her dress to show me her knee and her scar. What a character. 

My sympathy goes out to her family. Based on my conversations with her I know she loved them.

To Janet's husband, children, family, friends and everyone Janet touched-I would like to express my deepest sympathy and mourn along with the rest of you. Janet provided my five daughters and me with the best care and was providing care to my grandchildren that have joined the family in the past three years. I was shocked to hear of her passing. I found this on Janet's computer. I loved her more than anything. I want to share this so everyone knows who she was. Her loving husband. Tom       Birth/ Death; what lies in between? Life.
What a life I've had; blessed ,blessed, blessed.
What do I do now that life may soon end?
I have been given a diagnosis of incurable cancer; primary appendix with metastasis to lung, and liver; also invasion into the uterus and right ovary. Planned chemo.

I had amazing parents; they knew how to love ; I grew up in the Northeastern part of Pa; dairy farming country; my relatives owned farms; we owned the General Store; my parents shared the workload; we children all had to help; this was a business that my grandfather started. He ran a farm; bought and sold livestock; butchered the livestock; bought and sold a lot of things. He was part of my life almost daily. He and my Mom did not always get along. 
I have 1 brother and 2 sisters and I am the oldest, just 1 year older than my sister. We shared a room and most of our friends. Margaret died a few years ago of ovarian cancer. Now it appears to be my turn.

It is now late August and I am told that I may beat this incurable diagnosis. what to do now? I will retire on January 1, 2013. What then? I have had 7 months of no work and spent a large part of the summer at the cabin.
I have loved my career; it has been my life to care for others. I have made a difference.

What a great woman. I never questioned her when it came to my care or the care of my children. She will be missed!

I'm so sorry to hear of Janet's passing.  I had been going to Janet for years and years.  She was always of great comfort and expertise and will be greatly missed. With deepest sympathy....

I have just heard of Janet's passing and I am crushed... As well as shocked.  To say that she was the best person I have even known is not to give her justice.   She had been my and my boys only Pcp since moving to Mechanicsburg and no one can ever replace her in her skills and kindness.  She took the time to know you and many other physicians could have taken lessons from her on that!  :).  Chris has asked about you several times since hearing of your illness and i know that devon and joey are thinking of you.  We shared many good talks including we loss of her sister and how devastating it was for her.   I know she has no more pain or fear of the unknown now.  She looks down at us with the same love and caring she has always shown and she is with her sister and other family members.  
I feel blessed for having known her not only as my Pcp but as my friend.  It will be more difficult now knowing she is not in this world, there was always some comfort there. ...

I am sorry hear to of Janet's passing.  I was a patient of hers and loved her dearly.
She diagnosed me with hyperparathyroidism in my mid 40's.  My surgeon told me I had a great practitioner because they usually don't find that till your in your mid 60's. I always could count on her devotion and care when it came time for my yearly physical.  "May God be with you in your time of sorrow, be at peace knowing she is an Angel watching over you."

Janet was a great Dr. My daughter and I seen her for quite a while. We will miss her very much. Out thoughts and prayers are with her family at this time of sorrow.

I have been a patient of Janet's for 13 years.  My prayers go out to her family. She wasn't just my doctor.  She had that motherly touch.  She would share stories of her children and her husband.  The medical profession has lost a valuable lady.  I will miss you Janet!

I not only have been a patient of Janets for years, I precepted with her as a BSN student last fall, and just this Spring, she was my inspiration to apply for the Nurse Practitioner program. For quite a while now, I have been in the habit of telling everyone at school what an amazing person she was and the unbelievable energy she had for someone her age.

I was devastated to call the office today and learn of her passing. Oh how I wished I would have known the extent of her illness and could have visited with her. I have cried off and on all day today and even wondered how will I be able to follow in her footsteps as a Nurse Practitioner without her guidance. I can only imagine the loss felt by her family. My heart goes out to them and my prayers are for God's love and mercy to surround them all. From our talks at the office, I know she loved them deeply.

After reading every guest's comment, I now know I must let her legacy inspire me to complete my schooling and to go on to be the best Nurse Practitioner I can be...just like her. Thank you Janet for everything you've done for me. I will cherish your memory and your friendship as a practitioner and mentor always.

Janet was one of my preceptors during my training to be a Nurse Practitioner.  I learned alot from Janet not only in knowledge about my future career but from her spirit for life and caring.

I was a patient of Janet's for many years. She was very good in her field. I'm sure the medical community will miss a very special women. My sympathy goes out to her family and friends.She will surely be missed.

There is only one other person alive who knew Janet longer than I did and that is our brother John. I am her youngest sister Cynthia.  When I think of not being able to pick up the phone and call her I find it hard to breath. She was always the leader the one who paved the way for the rest of us.I grew up wanting to be just like her but life leads us all on different paths. She chose medecine and in the process of educating five children she and her wonderful and supporting Tom raised and educated five children Janet continued her education to achive a degree in nursing than a masters and continued on to become a nurse practioner. The pride and loss I am feeling right now can not be expressed in words. Sisters are bound in a special way that can not be expressed. I have lose a part of myself.  Janet you will be a part of my heart forever.

To all of you,     I remember her well from many years ago. This must be so difficult; my thoughts and prayers to all. Enjoy the wonderful memories she has left with each one of you,and remember her with joy.

On Tuesday I not only lost my mother in a physical sense, but I also lost my hero my mother and my best friend.
I say the physical sense because she will forever live in my heart and my soul. As well as everybody else she has touched in her life.
I thank God that I have had her this long to prepare me to be strong like her and to pass on her values and morals to my wife and my sons which I promise I always will mom.
I will never forget when I was little and she worked long hours on the night shift at the hospital helping other people through very difficult times.
When she would get home exhausted she would still take the time to check on all of us kids.
I admit I used to be a high maitenance child as the youngest of five but it never phased her.
She would always take the time to comfort me as well as run my feet and legs when I has growing pains as well as hold me when I was sick or scared an promise me that everything would be okay because she would always be there for me no matter what.
As I grew older I wondered how she could make a promise like that knowing that life is fleeting and everyone must go at some point.
Well mom 
Today I understand what u meant.
You will forever be there for me with what you have passed on with your teaching caring understanding and undying love.
I can only hope to be one tenth of the person she was but I know for most people that would be a huge success and you will be proud of me.
God willing when my time comes I will be there with you mom and I will bring the corn on the Cobb and the Janet Kelly from Camphills pineapple pizza.
Oh and while your up there for dads sake can you please see if you can help the eagles win a Super Bowl I love you mom your baby Michael

I have seen many patients of Janet's and they have only had wonderful things to say of her. Many felt she was irreplacable as a provider.  Although I did not have the opportunity to know her directly, I know she has touched many lives and will be greatly missed.  My thoughts are with her family in this time of sorrow.

We are sad to hear of Janet`s passing. We will truly miss seeing her at the events for the Promised Land Cabin Owners Association.It was always great talking with her and seeking her advice.

I just want to start by saying words can't express how I felt about Janet Kelly.And sometimes it hard to come up with words to say but not for her.She was a best friend and mother inlaw anyone could have hoped for.She was a complete blessing and I will always have that.I remember my son Gage went to the cabin with her and got smart mouthed she said"the world does not revolve around you it revolves around me" but she didn't mean it! Her life revolved around all of us.  Especially  her family !I hope she knows what the Kelly boys of carlisle mean to me I couldn't imagine a day without them and I know she felt the same.I owe that to one woman Janet Kelly.
