She was born in Bloomsburg, Pennsylvania on October 24, 1946 to the late Sarah E. (Shuey) and Harold E. Rhone.
She was a dedicated employee to many organizations through the years however cherished her time most fondly at Wilson World Hotel located in Kissimmee, Florida where Ida spent her time as "Wally" the Kangaroo mascot for the former Wilson World Hotel. More recently, Ida enjoyed her time at Giant working in the Tree House as a childcare provider while parents were shopping. She was also known as the "hot dog lady" at Giant after her time in serving at the Tree House.
Ida was a 1965 graduate of William Penn High School in Harrisburg, PA. She was a long-time member of the West Shore Baptist Church, in Camp Hill, PA as a greeter and faithful servant. But more than anything her true delight was serving as a teacher in the children's ministry where she could share the joy and love of her Savior to the young.
Ida is preceded in death by her three brothers, Raymond, Eugene and Robert; and one sister, Margaret. She is survived by siblings, Mary Jacobs of Elizabethtown, George Rhone of Warfield, VA, Gregory Rhone of Harrisburg, Norman Rhone of Harrisburg and Deborah Shaw of Camp Hill; along with many nieces, nephews and countless others whom she cared and nurtured as her own throughout the years.
A visitation will be held on Friday, March 28, 2025 from 10:00-11:00am at West Shore Baptist Church; 2025 Market Street, Camp Hill, PA 17011. A memorial service will be held directly following at 11:00am.
In lieu of flowers, Ida's wishes are for contributions to be made to the West Shore Baptist Church.
