Chad Foster Cope, 32, of New Cumberland, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, October 5, 2011. He was a graduate of Penn State University and Trinity High School, class of ’97. Chad was passionate about politics and governmental affairs, and was a U.S. Army veteran of the Iraq War, serving in the 101st Air Borne Battalion. He loved the Grateful Dead, NY Mets, the Denver Broncos, his dog, Henry, and spending time with his family and friends.
Surviving are his wife, Angie T. Cope; his father, Jeffrey Foster Cope, wife, Suzanne; his mother, Patricia Kichman; maternal grandmother, Elizabeth Herr, all of Shiremanstown; sister, Erin M. Walters, husband, Erik, of Mechanicsburg; and several aunts, uncle, and cousins.
Funeral Services will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 12, 2011 in St. John’s Lutheran Church, 44 W. Main St., Shiremanstown. Burial will be in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, with military honors.
A visitation will be held 10:00 a.m. Wednesday to time of service at the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the VFW Post #7530 care of the Helping Hounds Program.
