Born on June 23, 1929 in Newville, PA, she was the daughter of the late Benjamin H. Felix and Bessie I. Commerer.
She is preceded in death by her loving husband Milton F. Hunter; daughter, Cynthia Ritter; grandson, Jonathan Fagan; and her siblings Bennett Felix and June Davids.
Surviving Arla is her daughter Alane Fagan; son in-law Jeff Ritter and his wife Kelly; grandchildren, Patrick Fagan, Jason Ritter and his wife Nicole, Christopher Ritter and his wife Billie, and Justin Ritter and his wife Gaby; and her great grandchildren, Brody, Morgan, Teddy, Beau, Macy, Jaxson and Sawyer.
Arla graduated from Newville High School before attending Central Penn Business School. She worked as an administrative assistant with the Mechanicsburg Navy Depot up until her retirement. Arla loved spending time with her family and friends and spent countless hours spoiling her grandchildren. She found great pleasure in gardening and loved feeding the birds in her backyard. A woman of great faith, Arla was a devoted member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Enola and served for many years as a volunteer with the Willing Workers Group. Arla also enjoyed baking and to this day family members continue to rave about her chocolate chip cookies.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday April 17, 2024 from 10:00-11:00am at St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church; 6839 Wertzville Rd, Enola, PA 17025. Funeral services will begin at 11:00am with burial to follow out in the church’s cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church or to Honor25.org a non-profit created in honor of her late grandson’s memory.
