Anne M. (Simpson) Cassidy, 84, of Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania, formerly of Montclair, NJ, and Encinitas, CA passed away peacefully in her home on Thursday June 18, 2020. She was the beloved wife of the late Henry (Hank) J. Cassidy.
Annie was passionate about politics, family, books and yard sales. She once said, "The best thing I ever did was have you kids." She spent many years living in Encinitas, San Diego where she loved volunteering at the Encinitas Community and Senior Center. She was also a member at the Encinitas American Legion and the Elks. Annie always enjoyed a good debate. She loved to venture out early on a Friday or Saturday morning to scour the San Diego yard sales for books and treasures.
A graduate of Lacordaire Academy and College of Saint Elizabeth, Mrs. Cassidy was a bibliophile, homemaker, domestic engineer and a caregiver for a number of years. An avid reader she loved spending time with family, visiting with friends and lunching at the Mechanicsburg Place Senior Center. She was a member of Saint Joseph Catholic Church, Mechanicsburg.
Mrs. Cassidy was predeceased by her sister, Edna (Simpson) Holler. She is survived by her six children, Lynne (Cassidy) Baker of Imperial Beach, CA, Karen and her husband Steve Tjaden, Vista CA, Christine (Cassidy) Bodei, Secaucus NJ, Theresa and her husband Mark Bockes, Wormleysburg PA, Patrick Cassidy, Mechanicsburg PA, Kevin and his husband Louis Cassidy-Lopez, Bakersfield CA; her sister, Rita (Simpson) Niccum; her beloved niece Brett Holler, Hollywood CA; and her grandchildren, Andrew, Nicole, Kayla, Kyle and Frank.
A memorial service will held at a later date.
