Born on March 4, 1918 in Myerstown, PA to the late Ella (Fry) and Benjamin Zug.
She is preceded in death by her husband Jacob E. Fritz; sisters, Mabel Eagles and Anna Zug; brothers, Abram Zug and Sanford Zug; and her niece, Ella Jone Eagles.
Surviving Amanda is her step-son Larry Fritz and his wife Janet; grandchildren, Corey Fritz and Kristen Junkin-Jones; 4 great grandchildren; her nephews David Zug and his wife Cindy Murphy, Stephen Zug and his wife Beverly, and Michael Zug and his wife Linda; as well as many great nieces and nephews.
Amanda graduated from John Harris High School and then from Juniata College with her Bachelor’s degree. She worked in the ticketing office for the Pennsylvania Railroad, now Amtrak, for 36 years which allowed her free train trips to anywhere within the United States. Amanda was a lover of games, a golfer, and could often be found playing pinochle or cards at the citizen’s center. She also enjoyed traveling and went on many cruises throughout her lifetime.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00am on Friday January 26, 2024 at Neill Funeral Home; 3401 Market Street, Camp Hill, PA 17011. Burial will take place at Hummelstown Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Paxton Street Home or to Messiah Lifeways employee fund.
