Peter Jerome Hunter

It is with great sadness that Sherry Hunter announces the passing of Peter Jerome Hunter peacefully on December 14th surrounded by his family. He was her best friend, husband and companion for 50 years. Father to Michelle (Thomas) Mason, Melanie Shouldice, & Michael (Sherrylin) Hunter, and his grandchildren Victoria, Alexandria, Hunter, and Clayton Mason, Samantha and Stephanie Shouldice, Michael, Nicholas, and Daniel Hunter. Brother to Evanne IVBM, Ted (Jeanette), Tom (Sandy), Danny (Lynda), Terry (Carol) Hunter. Brother-in-law to Patricia Petrie (Peter Mountain) and Michael Petrie (Marlene) as well as uncle to numerous nieces & nephews. Peter was born in Stratford, Ontario and has resided in Cambridge since 1976. Peter founded and operated Indu-Test Inspection Ltd for 23 years. Since 1998 he has owned and operated Perfection Inspection Ltd. He was a devoted grandfather, father, and husband who loved his family, his employees, and has lived his life as he ran his business, with honesty, caring, integrity, and a warm heart. He will be so deeply missed. Peter enjoyed sharing his time with friends and family at home in Cambridge by his pool, in Madeira Beach, FL, and at his cottage in Stratford.

Family and friends will be received at Barthel Funeral Home, 566 Queenston Rd., Cambridge, ON. (519-653-3251) on Thursday, December 19th, from 5 - 8 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be held at 11a.m. on Friday, December 20th at St. Clement’s Roman Catholic Church, 745 Duke St., Cambridge. Reception to follow at The Pines from 12 - 3 p.m. located at 115 Fountain St S, Cambridge, ON.
