Passed away after a brief illness on January 30, 2020 in Cambridge, Ontario, age 54.
Paul had the gift of music, art, and an amazing sense of humour. Some of his most treasured times were spent with his wife Mary riding his motorcycle and experiencing new adventures. He had the ability to see the world in such a way that even the smallest of things were treasures. He touched the hearts of those who were close to him and also those who were fortunate enough to meet him. Paul was a member of the Sheet Metal Workers International Association Local 562, and a long-time employee of Flynn Canada. Leaving to mourn, his beautiful wife and love of his life Mary, step-children Brandyn, Lydia, and John, mother Amelia, sisters Janet Murray (Gerry), Sandy Christopher (Jordan), Joan Evans (Rodger), Mona Matthews (Harvey), all of St. John’s, brother Gerard of Calgary, Alberta. Sister-in-law Juanita Simons (Dave), brother-in-law Bill Sheppard (Heather), sister-in-law Tammy Burdon (Rod), nieces and nephews Lisa, Robert, Craig, Michelle, Andrew, Ian, Nicole, John, Gerry, Jennifer, Marion, Ali, Jarod, and Luke. Also a number of great-nieces and nephews, and a large circle of friends. Predeceased by his father William Nelson, mother-in-law Dora Sheppard, and father-in-law William Sheppard. Special thanks to the staff at the Cambridge Memorial Hospital, as well as the nurses Elaine and Agnes from Paramed Nursing. Friends and relatives are invited to a Celebration of Life on Monday, February 3rd at Coutts Funeral Home (96 St Andrews St., Cambridge) from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm with a Sharing of Memories to begin at 4:00 pm. Flowers, or donations to the Canadian Cancer Society, would be greatly appreciated.
