Mary Payerl

We mourn our Mother, Mary Payerl, (nee Fritz) who died peacefully at her home on May 29, 2019 at the age of 91. She was brave. Leaving her home country of Austria as a young woman and raising a family in Canada, that takes courage.

Mary was our Lion, our strength, our nurturer. Food was her gift, and the way she showed love to her family. Mary was a most organized and most productive person. She managed her household by herself until her last few weeks. She was self-sufficient, and independent. She prided herself on her flowers, which brightened the neighborhood and was always up for a card game of Canasta. She leaves a legacy of woven afghan blankets and woolen socks to warm us all.

We will miss her dearly.

Mary is now with husband Bruno, and is lovingly remembered by children Elfrieda, (the late Frank Mandeljc Sr. ) Walter (Kelley) and Herbert (Mary Lyn),

Grandchildren, Monika (Jim Panno), Frank (Alli Ross), Mark (Caitie Lefroy), Andrew (Ali Miller), Leah Thomas (Kevin), Adam and Carly

Great grandchildren, Julia, Frank Jr., Kate, Finn

Sister Erna Feicht,(Richard), brother Raimund Fritz,

and loving nieces and nephews and loved ones in Austria. There was a special place in Mary’s heart for niece Linda Vanderheyden (Peter) and the whole Feicht family.

Cremation has taken place. Mary’s family are planning a private interment at a later date. Funeral Arrangements have been entrusted to Coutts Funeral Home and Cremation Centre. 519-621-1650.
