

Madeline passed away at Cambridge Memorial Hospital in her 95th year. Beloved mother of Barbara (Leitch) Ray (Brian) of Waterloo. Cherished sister to Ross (Elva) Hoover of Port Dover, Doris (Floyd) Held of Hagersville, Joan (Don) Sherk of Selkirk and Milton (Sharen) Hoover of Selkirk. Survived by her Granddaughter Kristi-Lea (James) Ramchuk, great-grandsons Jordan and Colin of Alberta and many beloved nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her first husband William Still in 1968 and her second husband Allan Clarke in 1997, as well as parents Madill and Vera Hoover. Madeline was a volunteer at Dufferin Memorial Hospital, Orangeville where she formed the Memorial Fund. In 1965 along with William, owned Yesteryear Antique, Coin and Gift Shop, Orangeville. After William passed she returned to Toronto and was employed by Peggy Joyce Interiors on Avenue Road as a design consultant, followed by a move to Cambridge in 1980 where she continued her love of decorating part time. Her dedication to her family, her cottage at Caledon Lake, her dogs Sheba and Kiki, music, figure skating, hockey, theatre and KW Symphony gave her great joy. Her world travels with Allan were a dream fulfilled. She was a former member of St. Andrews United Church, Preston where she was on the outreach committee, organizer and creator of the Tea and Potpourri annual event. St. Andrews is where she started her career as a passionate follower of Tai Chi for 35 years and continued this practice until recently. Also a former volunteer and pool member at Fairview Mennonite Home. A life well lived as well as a life well served, a lesson well learned from her parents and family who continue to serve up a gift of kindness to others daily. With a strong will and a tender heart, she cherished her friends and was loyal to all who were in her circle.
