Lou is together once again with his beloved wife Genevieve "Jenny" (nee Cole) (2016).
Loving father to Theresa (Peter) Doyle, Bart (Ellen) and Louis (Teresa). Cherished Poppy to Jen (Nicole), Matthew (Monica), Dwayne, Steven (Rachel), Scott and proud and doting great Poppy, or better known as "Poppy with the glasses" to Huxley, Lachlan and Hendrix. Dear brother to Stan (Patricia) of Cambridge, Lorraine (Bill) Cahill and George (Barb) both of NFLD. He is predeceased by his parents Bartholomew and Beryl, his brother Gordon and his in laws Arthur and Theresa Cole. Lou will be forever remembered by his sisters-in-law, brother-in-law, nieces, nephews and friends.
Lou was born on Bell Island and moved to Cambridge in 1962 and remained a steadfast proud Newfoundlander. Those that knew Lou could attest to the hardworking man he was - always willing to do anything he could to help his family. His absence is already felt so deeply, he will be sorely missed.
In keeping with his wishes, cremation has taken place and friends and family will be received on Friday, March 10th, 2023 from 9 - 11 a.m. at Coutts Funeral Home, 96 St. Andrews Street, Cambridge (519-621-1650). A Memorial Service will immediately follow at 11 a.m. in the funeral home chapel. Inurnment to follow, where Lou will be laid to rest, alongside his wife Jenny at Mount View Cemetery, Cambridge.
In lieu of flowers, donations made in Lou's memory to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be greatly appreciated.
Our heartfelt thanks to the doctors, nurses and support staff of Grand River Hospital - 5D stroke ward. The care and compassion shown to both Lou and our family over the past few days have meant more than words could express. Thank you.
