Suddenly, but peacefully, at the Cambridge Memorial Hospital on Monday, September 13, 2010 at 80 years of age. Leo was a machinist by trade and lived all his life in Galt/Cambridge. He was predeceased by his parents Francis James Johnston (1976) and Mary Josephine Harris (1956); his brother Francis (1970), his sister Mary Flynn (1996) and great granddaughter Billie Dawn (2001). Left to mourn are his wife of 57 years, Rosemary Leith and his children Anne Dwyer (Terry Simmons) of Simcoe, Dave (Debbie), and Christine McCabe (Ben) of Cambridge, Barbara Lehtiniemi (Leo) of Glen Robertson and Mike (Kathryn) of Regina, Sask. Sadly missed by grandchildren Colin, Jeff, Jennifer and Krista Dwyer; David Jr. (Ara), Melissa, Sarah, Christian, Joshua and Benjamin Johnston; Dawn Hodge (Dan); Chad Brayshaw; Andrew Eaton; Paul, Matthew, and Kate Johnston and Morgan Walker; as well as 12 great grandchildren: Mason, Erika, Arden, Darwin and Vera Dwyer; Daphne, Lorraine and Taylor Johnston; Logan Shaver and Leona, Sophie and Violet Hodge. A Funeral Mass was held at St. Ambrose Church (210 South Street, Cambridge) on Saturday, September 18 at 10:30 a.m. A private Internment will take place at Memory Gardens, Breslau. In memory of Leo, donations to The Alzheimer Society, Heart and Stroke Foundation or charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.
