On Friday, December 15, 2017, Jose Maria Galvao passed away unexpectedly at the age of 53. He is reunited with his parents, Jose Eduardo Galvao and Donatilde Galvao, in heaven. Joe had the biggest heart, and an amazing sense of humour. He loved cars, especially his 1978 pace car Corvette. He also enjoyed music, both listening to it and playing it on his bass guitar, piano, or whatever else he could get his hands on. Joe was a loving father to his only daughter Hilary Galvao (Taylor), and will be sadly missed by his sister Emmie Galvao (Albert), companion Virginia Freitas, and many more family members and friends. A visitation will be held at Coutts Funeral Home (96 St. Andrews St., Cambridge) on Tuesday, December 19th from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Ambrose Church (210 South St., Cambridge) on Wednesday, December 20th at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Parklawn Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
