James Redpath Barrie

Born January 16, 1924 at Mt. Pleasant Farm, Cedar Creek Road. The son of the late Will and Agnes Barrie. James passed away on August 20, 2019 at the age of 95. Predeceased by his wife Marian (nee Henderson) (2005)and son John (1991). Dear father of Robert (Lorna) of Banff, Alberta and Janet (Bill) Fleming of Embro. Grandpa to Russ (Wendy), Barrie and Rebecca Fleming, Scott (Laura) and Geordie Barrie. Great-grandpa to Bryer, Emmy, James, Liam and Zoey. Dear brother of George (Gwen) and David (Miriam). Brother-in-law to Flora Heard and Dorothy Henderson. Predeceased by Bill and Betty Barrie, Marion and Bruce Aitkin, Marg and Wes Down, Eleanor and George Henderson. James was a farmer (Oakwood Farm), a local historian, and a leader in his community, his church, and in agricultural organizations. A celebration of his well lived life is scheduled for 11 a.m. at Central Presbyterian Church, 7 Queens Square, Cambridge on Saturday August 24, 2019.
