It is with deepest sorrow we announce the sudden passing of Glenn Hornsby on Thursday May 21, 2015 in his 77th year. Loving husband of 53 years to Sandra (nee Dickson). Beloved father of Thomas, Julia Hornsby (Jane) and Deborah Porter (Doug). He will be sadly missed by his two grandchildren, Jeffrey and Cameron Hornsby. Survived and remembered by his cherished siblings Larry (Lynn) and Sharon Wood (Rick) both of Oshawa. Dear brother-in-law of Paul Dickson (Ruth) of Cambridge, Frank Thomas of Kitchener, and Margaret McCormac (Mike 2015) of Kitchener. Predeceased by his parents Thomas and Alice “Pearl” Hornsby and sisters-in-law Joan Thomas and Barbara Ann McCormac. Glenn will be greatly missed by many nieces and nephews, extended family and friends. Glenn was born in Toronto, Ontario and spent his childhood in Oshawa. He graduated from Ryerson Institute in 1959 with a diploma in Printing Management. Glenn found his passion while working at the family car business (Godfrey Motors) and rounded out his career as a sales manager with Galt Chrysler Dodge where he was employed for over 30 years. He and Sandra raised their family in Cambridge where he was very happily involved in the sports community. Glenn and Sandra have lived in Morriston, Ontario for the last 5 years and enjoyed attending the Mount Carmel-Zion United Church. Glenn affectionately known as “The Hawk” will be greatly missed for his keen sense of humour, his kind heart, and devotion to his family. Family and friends will be received at T. LITTLE FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTRE, 223 Main Street, Cambridge (519 623 1290) on Monday May 25th for visitation from 2-4 & 7- 9. Cremation to follow. A Memorial Service will be held the following day at Mount Carmel-Zion United Church, 22 Victoria St, Morriston, at 11am. As an expression of sympathy, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
