Jack was born in Windsor on February 16, 1925. He married Elizabeth (Betty) in 1944 and celebrated 65 years of marriage prior to her death in 2010.
He is survived by his children: Jack Pollock (Dorothy) of Stirling, Ralph Pollock (Sue) of Edmonton, Gayle Hall (Jeff Grigg) of Wiarton, Jayne Little (Kerry) of St. George, and Teri Blumenthal (Tyler) of Wisconsin, along with his grandchildren: Jason, Allan, Ian, Karen, Barb, Deb, Nancy, Graham, Michael, Hannah, and Kristian, their spouses and his great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother, Brian Pollock, and was predeceased by his parents Marcus Pollock and Alice Maude Wescott Pollock, and his sister, Gail (Pollock) Goslin.
After a short time working on the railroad, Jack joined Union Gas in 1947. Job transfers resulted in the family moving from Puce, to London and finally Cambridge. Jack was a member of Harmony Lodge No. 579 in Windsor since 1946. A natural athlete, in his early years, he was a competitive softball pitcher. As a 10-pin bowler he carried a 191 avg in his prime. He taught himself to golf at 40, and after retirement, he shared his love of golf as a starter and marshal at Cambridge Golf Club. He peeled many an apple with Wesley United’s Apple Corps.
The family thanks the caregivers at Queen’s Square and St. Luke’s for their caring of Dad with humour and grace as he progressed within his dementia. Cremation has taken place.
Memorial visitation at the T. LITTLE FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTRE, 223 Main Street, Cambridge 519-623-1290 on Saturday, October 19th from 2:00-4:00pm and 7:00-9:00pm. A Memorial Service will be held at WESLEY UNITED CHURCH, 6 Cambridge Street, Cambridge on Sunday, October 20th at 2:00pm.
