Mark was born on November 3, 1962, to Andrea and Tom Mitchell at Cambridge Memorial Hospital. After graduating from Southwood Secondary School, he went on to graduate from the University of Guelph with an Honours Bachelor of Arts and Sciences degree followed by a four-year degree at Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College, graduating in 1989. That same year he opened his practice of 34 years serving his hometown community of Galt and surrounding areas as well as people who travelled from many other cities for his highly skilled adjustments. He was a very special, giving, serving man.
Mark was a man with many passions. Family first, including pets here and gone, friends, Chiropractic, travel, football, hockey, baseball, working towards a blackbelt in Taekwondo, cycling, exercise, health and wellness of the body and mind, languages, world culture, historical movies and books, religion, and politics. He could be found washing the cars on Saturday mornings with his best canine friend by his side (training from his high school job at Littles Funeral Home), a fresh cut lawn followed by a craft beer or two then a dip in the pool in his backyard oasis. He was a teacher at heart and could tell a story like no other. He would have you laughing until your sides hurt.
He was a man who had the ability to never make a person feel less than, no matter their background, race, or income. You felt equal in his presence regardless of where or who you were. Mark was a gift to this world, and he will be missed greatly by all that loved him. He will be held deep in their hearts, never to be forgotten.
Mark is survived by his loving wife Karen (Morris), his daughter Alissa (Jooha) of Seoul, South Korea, his son Connor (Peyton) of Houston, Texas, his best pup Alfie, his father Tom Mitchell of Cambridge, mother-in-law and father-in-law Shirley and Bill Morris of Kitchener, brother-in-law Dave Morris of Kitchener, brother-in-law Randy Morris of Ottawa, and niece Michaela Mitchell (James) of London. Mark is predeceased by his mother Andrea Mitchell (d.2021) and his brother Alex Mitchell (d.2013).
