It is with great sadness that the family of Connie Self announce her passing at home on Tuesday, November 27, 2012. Connie was born in Sarnia, Ontario to Binnie and Bessie Black and is survived by her sister Merle Belford and her brother the Rev. Gervis Black. Predeceased by her husband of 54 years R. Kenneth Self, she will always be fondly remembered by their children, Richard (Nancy), Roger, Heather (Chris Miles), Susan, Peter (Paula) and Paul (Tara), and her thirteen grandchildren Taylor, Jennifer, Kathleen, Elizabeth, Jacqueline, Emily, Alexandra, Gabrielle, Stephen, Brandon, Richie, Makenna and Delaney and her great granddaughter Ava.
Connie touched many people in many ways in her long and well-lived life. A woman of strength, through her Christian faith, Connie had an unwavering belief in the inherent goodness in people and lived a life dedicated to others. As a mother, a wife, a grandmother, a sister and a friend she remained steadfastly supportive and unfailingly optimistic about what the future would bring - a simple gift to all that knew her.
Visitation will be from 2:00 - 4:00pm and 7:00 – 9:00pm on Saturday, December 1, 2012 at Coutts Funeral Home, 96 St Andrews Street, Cambridge, Ontario. The funeral service will be held at 1:30pm on Sunday, December 2, 2012 at Central Presbyterian Church, 7 Queens Square, Cambridge, Ontario.
