She is survived by many loving nieces and nephews, and their children. She also leaves behind her sister Jane Liutkus (Bill).
Carol was predeceased by her parents Roman and Winnifred; brothers Bill, Paul, Buck (Carolyn), and Ben; and sister Mary Crandall (Bob).
Carol was a devoted teacher of blind and deaf children for many years and this work brought her great joy. She was a life-long learner, and fiercely independent. She loved spending time with her friends and family, gardening, and her trips to the casino.
As were Carol’s wishes, cremation has taken place. The family will hold a private celebration of Carol’s life.
Carol’s family would like to extend a heartfelt thank-you to the Grand River Hospital Cancer Centre and to the wonderful care team at the Hospice of Waterloo Region, who made her last days peaceful.
