My husband Kurt and I had the pleasure of getting to know Brenda through our former business, Kurtis Sales Ltd. Brenda was a delight to deal with and a welcome visitor to our office. Her stories had us laughing along with her and seeing her always brightened our day. 
 Hearing of her passing was sad news. We share your grief and loss, she was one wonderful lady and will be missed.

I will miss you, my friend!  Add my tears and grief to all those shed by Rick and family members who loved her dearly. I feel so humbled and happy to have had the blessing of meeting and getting to know Brenda.  We met during a Garden Club Open Garden Tour and became garden buddies, sharing our love of hostas. Brenda was an amazing woman, as I'm sure everyone who has had the privilege of knowing and having her as part of their life would agree. Goodbye my special friend.  I will never forget you. I have my Hosta called Brenda's beauty that she gave me to remember her always.

I had the privilege of working with Brenda at GRH. Not only was she an amazing colleague and mentor, she was the very definition of a nurse. I could only hope to be the caring professional she was. I had my first child in 2013 and Brenda was there for the birth. Her calming presence, expertise, and beaming smile will always be in my memory of that wonderful day, made so much easier because of Brenda.

Brenda was a truly a wonderful and caring person. She was so kind and helpful to my mom after breaking her leg, even though she was sick herself. I did not meet her many times, but felt like I knew her well. She was so bubbly and friendly. Brenda will be greatly missed.

I met Brenda my very first night on call at Grand River Hospital as a new and nervous obstetrician.   She was charge that night, and not only provided support and care to her fellow nurses, exemplary care to our patients, but also a kind hand and shoulder of support for me.   I only had the pleasure of knowing and working with Brenda for a short 7 years, but I feel blessed and am thankful for the opportunity to have worked along side her!

Brenda and Rick were our neighbours on James Street. It was a pleasure and inspiration to see Brenda on the corner, always smiling, always busy doing something fabulous around their ever more wonderful home and garden. I don't believe that creative spirit can be gone. She will stay in my mind always.

Brenda was such a true light and joy to be around.  Every memory I have with her includes laughter, story telling and her big smile.  Some of which are Sauble Beach vacations, Christmas, and amazing meals.  Brenda you were always the hostest with the mostest.  Beautiful inside and out. Breda was an amazing lady , full of life, and with the nicest smile always ! It was a privilege to have worked with her in labor and delivery. Am honoured to be a friend of hers! My fondest memories of Brenda include her amazing stories (as she could only tell them!), breakfast dates with friends, time away at the Lake House, and her hosting my surprise baby shower! She was amazing! And she will be so missed. Hold her memories close, family & friends--she is with us always.

Rick, Jenn and family ... you are in our thoughts and hearts. We feel so blessed to have known Brenda for 30 years.  Mark met her in the duty free shop on the way to Mexico ... he still talks about that day and how Brenda filled the shop with her smile, laugh and engaging personality. Because of Mark ... I got to know and love Brenda as my friend too.  She was there when both of our children were born ... not as a nurse but as a friend who wanted to be the first to congratulate us.  Our 25 and 23 year olds always loved Rick and Brenda's visits and will miss her as much as we will. What I loved most about Brenda was that she was so authentic ... she could find joy in just about anything and it was a delight to be in her company.  We will miss those moments so much.  Love to you all.

I have many fond memories of working with Brenda during my time in Labour and Delivery......so many laughs and talks about gardening and life!!!! Brenda sure ignited my passion for gardening and the way she lit up when we talked and shared pics and tips was so inspiring. Brenda was our labour and delivery nurse for our first child almost 22 years ago.  She was kind, funny, attentive, caring and guided the worried soon to be parents through the day.  She spent her entire shift with us and left before the birth of our daughter.  She came back the next day to visit us and see how it all turned out.   We only knew her for those few hours but never forgot how amazing she was.  We are so saddened to read of her passing.  Her family and friends are in our prayers.

Brenda had the extraordinary ability to make every patient feel that they were the most  important person on the unit. She was so gentle with families and a fierce advocate for her "moms".
My time working with her was short but she impressed me so much. She will be so missed. My prayers for her family..

It didn't matter who you were? Brenda always made the effort to say hi! to you and her smile made your day brighter when ever you had seen her. Brenda was my labor and delivery nurse during the birth of my middle daughter. To this day, I have always shared with friends how wonderful of a nurse she was! Brenda was a wonderful person, friend and sister-in-law. We are blessed to have had her in our lives and will always cherish the memories. Our deepest heartfelt condolences to Rick, Jenny, Fadi and the rest of her friends and family.

After we married in June,1963, we were introduced to the Main family by a mutual friend.  Since we were Bible College students in London, Ontario, John and Ruth Main, parents of Brenda, offered the attic apartment for us to live in. At that time, Brenda was 7 years old.  She was a quiet as well as a sweet little girl, often on her father's knee. She always had a smile on her face, and she will be very much missed by her family as well as her siblings and many friends.
