Bonnie Jean Ruth McCreadie

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Bonnie Jean Ruth (nee Ayres) on October 9, 2022 at Cambridge Memorial Hospital at the age of 72 after a long courageous battle with cancer. We give thanks to the staff of C4 and Dr. Evans for their compassionate care of Bonnie in her final days.

Bonnie was born in Galt on November 19, 1949 to George and Marie Ayres. Dear sister to John and Paul Ayres. Predeceased by both parents, her brother George Ayres and her niece Margaret Ann Ayres. Survived by her daughter Kristi Ramcharitar (Greg) and her son Drew McCreadie (Erin) and her aunt Beatrice Ayres. “Nana” will be greatly missed by her granddaughters Mariah and Kiana, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

As a young woman Bonnie trained to be a caregiver for special needs children and worked in that field for many years. In later years she was active as a volunteer with Cambridge Food Bank and helping with supporting young expecting mothers. She was a member of Cambridge Community Church where she served in many ways, including teaching Sunday School.

Friends and family will be received on Friday, October 21, 2022 from 7 – 9 p.m. at Coutts Funeral Home, 96 St. Andrews Street, Cambridge (519-621-1650). A Funeral Service will take place on Saturday, October 22, 2022 at 11 a.m. at Cambridge Community Church on Pollock and Lincoln Avenue. We encourage you to wear something purple if you have it, as that was Bonnie’s favourite colour.

In lieu of flowers we ask that donations be made to the Cambridge Food Bank.
