Betty was born March 18, 1932. She is predeceased by her parents Fred and Viola Nash, and her husband Robert James (1969) and sister-in-law Virginia May Govier. Loving Mom to Dave (Mary Jane), Lori (Bill) and Mark. Very proud Nana of her three grandsons; Kevin (Stephanie) of Vancouver, Bryan of Halifax and Ethan of Cambridge. Sister in law of John and Carolyn Griffiths of Burlington, Pat Stewart of Lucan. She will be missed and remembered by her nieces and nephews, extended family and friends.
Mom was born in Simcoe (Port Dover) and moved to Preston with her family as a young girl where she lived and went to school until she married and moved to Galt where she lived, worked and raised her family. She lived in Cambridge until going to Parkwood Mennonite Home in Waterloo last year. After her husband passed away, Mom worked full time as a bookkeeper for James Kennedy Accountant in Cambridge for over 25 years until her retirement in 1996. Betty volunteered at the Woman’s Shelter after retirement, she enjoyed her exercise classes, TaiChi, going for walks and she loved her Tim Hortons coffee. Mom enjoyed some traveling, she always enjoyed her visits back to Port Dover, enjoyed time at the cottage in Sauble Beach, walks on the beach, great food, and watching the beautiful sunsets of Sauble and Southampton, but most of all she enjoyed being with her family. Mom was thoughtful and kind, private and patient, hardworking, very strong and independent. Thank you Mom, rest in peace… We love you and will miss you.

Friends and family will be received on Tuesday, August 30, 2022 at Coutts Funeral Home, 96 St. Andrews Street, Cambridge (519-621-1650) from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. A Funeral Service will take place at 1 p.m. with interment to follow at Mount View Cemetery, Cambridge.
As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Alzheimer’s Society or the Heart and Stroke foundation is appreciated by the family.
