Born in India, George went on to study in France where he met Monika, and then immigrated to Canada, after earning two Ph.D.s. George had a long, distinguished career in Clinical Biochemistry. He conducted research at Sick Kids’ Hospital, taught at the University of Toronto as an Associate and was the Chief of Clinical Chemistry at North York General Hospital, from where he retired. He was also passionate about music, playing the piano all his life, and singing in church and college. After his retirement, he enjoyed membership in both the St. Luke’s United Church Choir and the Cambridge Senior’s Choir. George was generally a quiet person, but he would often be heard singing.
In accordance with his wishes, cremation has taken place. Arrangements entrusted to the T. Little Funeral Home (519) 623-1290.
As expressions of sympathy, donations to Tanz Centre for Research in Neurodegenerative Diseases at the University of Toronto would be appreciated by his family.
