Michael J. Rakowski, age 60 of Calumet City formerly of Chicago passed away on Saturday, November 20, 2010. Michael was a Vietnam War U. S. Army Veteran. He was the beloved husband of Mary nee Olszewski; loving father of Bryan (Stacie) and Heather Rakowski; proud grandfather of Ruthie Lynn; fond brother of Audrey (John) Flavin, Stanley (Marlene) Rakowski, Lawrence and Thomas (the late Norma) Rakowski; uncle to many nieces and nephews and treasured friend to many. Preceded in death by his parents Theodore and Irene(nee Dombrowski) Rakowski.
Visitation will be Tuesday, November 23, 2010 from 3pm to 9pm at Hennessy-Nowak Funeral Home 400 Pulaski Road (154th Street) Calumet City. Funeral Wednesday, November 24, 2010 9:15 am from Hennessy-Nowak to St. Victor Church Mass at 10:00 a.m. Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery.
