We are sad to announce that Don passed away peacefully in his sleep, at his home on Saturday, December 5 at the age of 93 years. He will be sadly missed by his loving wife Connie of 60 years; sons Brian and David; daughter Linda (Gordon) Sunderland; six grandchildren and two great-granddaughters. He will also be missed by brother-in-law Hal (Lorraine) Quilliam of Edmonton and sister-in-law Robin Quilliam of Tuson, AZ, along with many nieces, nephews, friends and neighbours. Don was predeceased by his two sisters and their husbands.
Don was a very quiet and a true gentleman, cherishing his family and friends. He always had a smile and a kind word for everyone. He kept our spirits up with his fine sense of humour.
Don was born in Regent, Manitoba and lived in Brandon for a few years before moving to Alberta where he worked for the Department of Highways for a number of years before moving to Banff to work for the Federal Department of Public Works. Later, he moved to Calgary and worked for an engineering company until his retirement.
Due to the restrictions of COVID-19, a Celebration of Life will not be held at this time.
