Willi Roth

Wilhelm (Willi) Roth passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family when the Good Lord took him home on Tuesday, July 19, 2016 at the age of 77 years. Willi emigrated from Germany to Coaldale, AB in March of 1953, and worked on a sugar beet farm. He was an avid gardener specializing in alpine flowers. Willi was a member of the Alpine Society and the Philatelic Society; as well as a faithful member of Foothills Lutheran Church. He regularly swam six days a week, was passionate about traveling and exploring the world, and was always looking for his next great adventure. Willi is survived by his daughters Diana (Rod) and Anita; grandchildren Melissa (Josh), Brendon, Autumn-Rose, Sterling and Kennedy; as well as great-grandchildren Raina and Roman. He was predeceased by his loving wife Waltraud, in 2010, his parents and three brothers. A Funeral Service will be held at Foothills Lutheran Church, 3104 – 34 Avenue N.W., Calgary, AB, with Reverend David Bode presiding, on Tuesday, July 26, 2016 at 2:00 p.m., with interment to follow at Queen’s Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made directly to The Brain Aneurysm Foundation of Canada, St. Michael’s Hospital, 30 Bond Street, Toronto, ON, M5B 1W8.
